Jan Vogler

Bill Murray, actor Jan Vogler, cello Mira Wang, violin Vanessa Perez, piano Bill Murray and Jan Vogler met during their travels and became friends in New York. Curious about each other’s artistic world and interests, the artist and the cellist soon had the idea to work together on a project.

Over the course of its 40-year history, the Dresden Music Festival has established itself as distinctive cultural institution in Dresden and attracts an audience far beyond Germany’s borders. During three festival weeks renowned orchestras, top-class soloists and ensembles come to Dresden to perform at the most beautiful venues in its historic center and surroundings and fill the city with music.

Every August, internationally renowned soloists and outstanding young artists from all over the world meet in idyllic Moritzburg near Dresden. There they work on new interpretations of chamber music works together, presenting them in dynamic, flexible formations – which are unique and exclusive to the Moritzburg Festival.

For more than three decades Jan has been touring the world as a concert cellist. He believes that constantly widening his perspective as a performer, learning new pieces, styles and becoming familiar with new musical genres is key to keeping a fresh approach to performance.
